Delivery

Delivery charges are determined by the delivery address of the customer. Customers are very welcome to collect orders from any one of our branches in Billingham, Scarborough and Gosforth. 90% of our stock is located in our Billingham warehouse but can be transported overnight to Scarborough or Gosfoth for collection. Orders must be placed beforehand and we would suggest you check stock availability before travelling.

The following delivery charges apply to orders placed via www.normansoffice.co.uk for delivery by courier.

 

  • UK Mainland (excluding highlands of Scotland) £6.50 (£5.53 ex vat)
  • Northern Ireland, offshore isles and the Islands and highlands of Scotland £6.99 (£5.95 ex vat)
  • Republic of Ireland £14.10 (£12.00 ex vat)
  • The Channel Islands and Jersey will incur a £10.00 surcharge.

Please note that these delivery charges exclude items from the “FURNITURE AND WORKSPACE” section. Please contact us for a quote on delivery charges on the items you are requiring. We reserve the right to amend any carriage charges without giving prior notice.

We will aim to despatch your order within 2 business days from receipt of your payment, if it is received before 5pm. Our delivery services will require a signature on receipt of the parcel. Our carriers may attempt delivery at any time between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm. We therefore advise that you provide a shipping address where you or a representative, can sign for delivery.

We despatch parcels by courier companies including DHL, Interlink Express, Business Post and Royal Mail. This method is fully secure and we can track and trace the order for you. Orders placed by this method should reach you on the following working day from despatch, though there may be delays. We will endeavour to ensure that goods leave our fulfilment centre as early as possible, providing the item is in stock or on the same day the goods reach us from our suppliers. Please note that goods despatched on a Friday will normally be delivered on the following Monday. Orders placed on a Saturday or Sunday will normally be despatched the beginning of the next working week.

Please note that we cannot guarantee the stock availability of any order and some items may take longer than quoted. If for any reason we can not fulfil your order we will endeavour to contact you immediately, by email or telephone with the option of an alternative product, keeping the specified item (subject to availability) on order or cancellation of the item(s) with which we will provide you with a full refund on the said product(s).

Returns Policy

Under the distance Selling Regulations, you have the right to cancel an order within seven working days of purchase or within seven working days of receipt of the goods (whichever is the longer). This does not apply to items personalised or made to your specifications. Should you wish to cancel your purchase within seven working days, please contact us in writing, either by letter or by email. All items must be appropriately packaged and returned within 14 Days, unused in their original packaging in a saleable condition and the tags still attached (if applicable) along with the invoice to:

Orders where goods are received back after 14 days will be charged a 10% restocking fee. We cannot accept liability for returned goods lost or damaged during transit. You are advised to wrap the product carefully to avoid damage and to return goods by recorded delivery, registered post or by courier. Proof of postage will not be accepted as proof of delivery. The cost of returning goods will be borne by the customer. Cost of return of goods cancelled after dispatch will be borne by customer.

You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for purchase within 30 days after we receive your return or 7-day cancellation notice. Shipping and Handling charges will not be refunded for (1) undeliverable packages (including those for which the shipper cannot locate the customer, resulting in the order being returned to sender or abandoned), (2) deliveries that are refused (including instances in which the customer is unwilling to pay any applicable taxes or duties which results in the order being returned to sender or abandoned) or (3) orders cancelled after the goods have been shipped. All undeliverable or refused orders will be treated as a return, with the same policy applied as returned items.

In the unlikely event that you receive damaged goods, please notify us in writing (or by email) within 7 days of receipt and goods will be re-dispatched on return of faulty items.

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchases. Please let us know if you are not entirely satisfied with our products or our service, so that we can rectify the situation. Items are described and photographed as accurately as possible, but please note that brands, sizes, colours and designs may vary slightly from advertisement. We reserve the right to substitute goods within your order with goods of an equivalent nature (e.g. a red binder for a blue binder). If you do not wish to accept the substituted goods then you must return them to us within 14 days of their receipt.

Please note the following:
Any flat-pack furniture that has been partially or fully assembled cannot be returned for any reason other than manufacturing fault.

 

BATTERY RECYCLING

As part of our commitment to reduce the environmental impact of our own operations  NORMANS are now offering a take back scheme for all portable waste batteries. You can return your waste batteries to our business premises in person, please do not post.

Alternatively you can find your local waste portable battery recycling facility at www.recyclenow.com

Also most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, libraries or schools may also have set up collection points. End users may find these alternative options more accessible.

Why we take Batteries recycling so seriously.
Some household batteries contain chemicals like lead, mercury or cadmium. If batteries are not disposed of properly they may end up in landfill. Once buried the batteries start to break down and these harmful chemicals may then leak into the soil or water causing pollution.

 

Recycling helps prevents pollution and also helps recover valuable resources.
